Dave and Tracey opened Academic Automotive Inc. in 1996. Dave started the business to give people  the best service at a fair and reasonable price. He wanted people to be more educated about their car and repairs then when they walked in. We pride ourselves on doing the best job possible for our customers. Dave started working on cars professionally at a repair station at the  age of 14.  Dave went to School at Santa Barbara City College where he completed ASE Automotive Service and Technology program. He later completed his ASE Certification to become a ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician including the Prestigious L-1 Advance Engine Performance Specialist .  He started his first business  in California which was Dave's Mobil lube driving in a 33 Ford Pickup (yes he still has it) doing oil changes at peoples houses.  He decided to leave Cali and start a life in Ohio. Dave had several jobs as mechanic before starting his own where he could do honest work at a fair and reasonably price. He loves to educate people about cars. Tracey is the office manager. She is the one that handles the appointments and checking in and out customers.
